Today, Friday 9th April Class 40 Activity

Above is an image of 40145 waiting to depart Euston for Crewe on Wednesday after bringing a train up from Bristol to Wembley via Reading and Acton.

This morning 40145 is scheduled to haul a Class 20 from Crewe to Barrow Hill and then accompany Shaun Wrights D213 from Barrow Hill to Crewe.

Departure from Crewe is shown to be at 07.55 hours, and 145 will go via Stafford ( 08.35 ) and Lichfield (09.00) and have a 2 minute stop at Derby ( 09.47 to 09.49 ) and is due at Barrow Hill about 10.30.

ON THE RETURN,

Departure from Barrow Hill is scheduled to be at 11.42 with D213 leading 40145.

The journey to CREWE, should be VIA the same route as the outward run with 40145,

The pair are expected at Derby from 12.41 to 12.45 hours.

Later, they are timed for a pause at Lichfield from 13.51 to 14.02 hours, and should pass through Stafford at approx. 14.42, before arriving at CREWE at 15.10 hours.

PLEASE NOTE

The timings stated are what has been planned by Network Rail, but if there is a lash up on the network on the day in the vicinity of the selected route, the timings AND / OR,  the route may change.

PLEASE be mindful that the information stated is given in good faith, but can NOT be guaranteed.

Moving on, Shaun has done a fantastic job on ANDANIA, and the loco looks superb, both inside and out.

All being well, ANDANIA will see some action in the weeks ahead as 40145 is going to have a break.

The intention is that 40145 will have some bodywork repairs AND THEN A REPAINT INTO GREEN, and in a couple of months time, we are hoping that 40145 will look as good as ANDANIA does at present.

Needless to say, 40145’s makeover will cost us a 5 figure some and I don’t mean £100.20 pence !

Something between £15,000 to £20,000 is the expected cost, subject to the extent of the bodywork repairs needed.

IF anybody wants to help fund the project, any donation received will not be turned away !

On a serious note, IF you do make any form of donation, please DO SPECIFY if you want your money assisting with the costs of 40145’s repair and repaint OR,  to go towards 40135’s CRANKSHAFT appeal.

FINALLY, lets wish SHAUN WRIGHT ALL THE VERY BEST, with ANDANIA.

He has put a massive amount of effort AND MONEY, into getting the locomotive back in working order, and whilst doing so, has still put time aside to help The CFPS.

I DO SINCERELY HOPE THAT ALL Shaun’s TROUBLES WITH D213 ARE NOW BEHIND HIM.
