Back in 2007, VISIONS
INTERNATIONAL produced a 96 Page A4 softback book titled 'DIESEL & ELECTRIC
BLUE', (see above).
It featured 250 images (mainly
mono) taken by David Maxey and the contents of the book are stated in the second
picture above. The images show a wide range of Diesel Locomotives active in the
late 1970s and 1980s, with 15 of Class 40s and similar amounts each of class 37,
50, 52 and 55. The remaining shots are an assortment of classes 06, 08, 20, 25,
26, 27, 31, 33, 43, 44 to 46, 47, 56, 71, 76 and AC Electrics.
In the past year when on the
sales stand, we were regularly asked if we had this book but we didn’t, so we
decided to do something about it. As a consequence, the CFPS now has 20+ copies
of this book which has an RRP of £14.95. HOWEVER, you can purchase the book from
CFPS at a price of £7.20. Post + Packing will be an additional

This top quality CFPS publication
was the first in a series of books covering the decades since the
introduction of the class 40s in 1958.The first volume covers the late
1950s & the 1960s & is packed with interesting articles.
It is a "must purchase" for 'class
40' aficionados and rail enthusiasts in general, particularly those who
have an interest in the 'transition years' period. Within its 56 pages,
you will find almost seventy stunning photographs that take you back in
time to the beginning of the class 40 era. Many of the photographs have
rarely (if ever) been published before.
